Session 4 – Bleeding & Shock
Bleeding is a serious problem in first aid and, in severe cases, a person could die within 3 to 4 minutes if they don’t receive effective treatment. In this session we will talk about the role of blood and the circulatory system, as well as the effects on our body when we start to lose that blood, eventually leading to life-threatening shock. We’ll discuss the different types of wounds we may come across, the relevant treatments for each, and also how we can use the equipment in public-access trauma kits to deal with a range of injuries.
These sessions are open to all ages and abilities, because everyone can benefit from this essential knowledge.
Keep in mind that these sessions won’t come with formal accreditation. They are all about empowering you, your friends, and your family with life-saving know-how. If you’re seeking certification, watch out for a full day of First Aid Training in the future.
