Our Regular Volunteering Days: With a Community Focus
We host regular volunteering days where everyone is welcome to drop in:
- Monday & Wednesday: Community Days
Help us set up 🎉, support events 🎈, welcome new faces 😊, or join our GrubHub kitchen team to prepare meals 🍽️. Whether you love connecting with people or working behind the scenes, we have something for you! - Tuesday: Outdoor HQ Day
Get your hands dirty with outdoor tasks like gardening 🌻, maintaining our site 🛠️, or working on upcycling projects ♻️. It’s a day filled with nature 🌳, teamwork 🤝, and creativity 🎨. Don’t forget to pack a lunch 🥪 and dress warmly!

Pop-Up Volunteer Opportunities: Events and One off Activities

Coed Lles: Woodland Volunteer Team
Project Overview:
Thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we’re developing a 10-year woodland management plan to care for and enhance our woodland 🌲. But we can’t do it alone—we need your help!
Volunteer Role:
We’re seeking passionate nature lovers 🍃 to join our woodland volunteer team. You’ll receive training and work alongside a specialist to help bring our vision to life. This is a hands-on role that offers the chance to learn about woodland management 🌿 and contribute to a lasting environmental impact 🌍.

LikeMinded: Dementia Support Group Volunteer
Project Overview:
ikeMinded is our peer support group for people living with dementia 🧠, founded by Teresa Davies after her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s. The group meets weekly for tea, coffee, and conversation in a friendly and supportive space ☕.
Volunteer Role:
We’re looking for a caring and social volunteer 💖 to help with teas, coffees, and light activities. Your role will involve chatting with group members, helping create a welcoming atmosphere, and providing companionship.

GrubHub Kitchen Team Volunteer
Project Overview:
GrubHub runs on our lively Magic Monday and Wonderful Wednesday community days 🍽️, and we’re looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen! Whether you’re an experienced cook 👩🍳 or just love working with food, this is a fun way to contribute.
Volunteer Role:
Join us in preparing fresh ingredients 🥕, cooking meals 🍲, and serving delicious food to our community. You’ll work alongside a friendly team in a vibrant kitchen environment.

Finance Volunteer
Project Overview:
Our treasurer, Phil 💼, is looking for a finance volunteer to assist with the day-to-day financial operations at Outside Lives. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in financial management 💵, including bookkeeping, budgeting, and reporting.
Volunteer Role:
Help us keep our projects running smoothly by supporting our financial team 💰. You’ll play an important role in ensuring funds are used effectively to support our community initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Basic understanding of finance or a willingness to learn 📊
- Attention to detail and organisation skills ✏️
- Ability to dedicate a few hours per week ⏰ (or more)

Give an Hour, Make a Difference: Flexible Volunteer Opportunities
Not everyone has a lot of time to give, but even an hour can make a big impact ⏳! We offer flexible ways to volunteer, whether in person or from the comfort of your home 🏠. Here are a few ways to get involved:
- Watering the Plants: Help us keep the gardens at our HQ or Ty Calon thriving by joining our plant-watering rota 💧. Just an hour a week outdoors makes a difference 🌼!
- Setting Up Events: Help set up our Wednesday events at the Rugby Club from 9:00 to 10:00 AM ⏰. It’s an easy way to support community activities and ensure the day runs smoothly.
- Social Media Support: Spread the word about Outside Lives by sharing our posts online 📲. From your own couch 🛋️, you can help us reach more people by liking, sharing, and commenting.
- Event Crew: Join us at local events, manning stands, handing out flyers, and sharing information 📄. It’s a fun, social way to engage with the community and support our work.

Meet & Greet: Event Support
Project Overview:
As part of our SPARC project, Outside Lives is looking to bring community members together by ensuring everyone feelsable to attend local events. Whether it’s one of our own activities or an event hosted by another organisation, we understand that attending solo can sometimes feel a bit daunting. That’s why we want to create a friendly, inclusive environment where everyone has someone to connect with from the very start! 🤝🌿
💼 Volunteer Role:
We’re seeking a small team of friendly volunteers to meet and greet fellow community members at various local events. These could range from trips to the theatre 🎭 to nature walks 🚶♀️🌲, with the goal of making sure everyone feels at ease before the event begins.
✨ What we’re looking for:
- 😊 Friendly, approachable individuals who enjoy meeting new people and making others feel comfortable.
- 🕒 Volunteers who are available to greet and engage with participants at the start of events (you won’t need to stay for the entire event.. but can if you want to!).
- 💛 A commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring everyone feels included.
- 🎟️ Don’t worry about cost; Outside Lives will cover any entrance fees if needed!

SUPER SHOPPER: Event Support
Project Overview:
As part of our commitment to Earth Care and supporting local businesses, Outside Lives is looking for a volunteer to help with our shopping needs fior our activities and events. Instead of relying on online platforms like Amazon, we want to buy from local shops right here in Mold. By doing so, we can support our hometown economy and reduce our carbon footprint! 🌍💚
💼 Volunteer Role:
We’re looking for a local shopper who can take our shopping list 📝 and head out to buy the items we need from shops in Mold. Your role will help us stay true to our values of sustainability and community support, keeping our purchases local! 🛍️
✨ What we’re looking for:
- 🛒 Someone who enjoys shopping locally and can commit to doing this fortnightly.
- 💪 A volunteer who is willing to pick up essential items from Mold, ensuring we stay away from online platforms.
- 🌿 A passion for supporting local businesses and promoting Earth Care through sustainable shopping habits.
- 😊 Reliability and the ability to manage a shopping list with care, ensuring we get the right items for our needs.
