Lucy Powell founded Outside Lives in 2019 after working in social services for several years. Her commitment to social change and community development drives her leadership across all of Outside Lives' projects. Lucy oversees the organisation’s direction, ensuring its mission and values are reflected in everything it does.

Director of Finance

Phil Brereton, a qualified ACCA accountant, is responsible for managing Outside Lives’ finances. As Financial Director, Phil ensures the organisation remains financially sustainable and transparent, overseeing all financial and treasury functions to support its continued growth and success.

Director of Permaculture

Tim Powell leads Outside Lives’ permaculture initiatives and manages the Handy and Capable team. He works closely with volunteers, focusing on sustainability, craftwork, and practical skills development. Tim’s expertise helps ensure that Outside Lives operates with an emphasis on ecological responsibility and community engagement.

Strategic and Day-to Day Support

Kate Bowyer works alongside the directors, assisting with strategic planning and day-to-day operations. She plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation, contributing to both its long-term vision and daily management.

Anastacia Ackers leads the evaluation and reporting of Outside Lives’ projects, collecting and analysing data to assess their impact. She also leads the Green Room team, overseeing performance and theatre-based projects. Anastacia’s role ensures that the organisation’s work is both effective and creatively engaging.
