Session 3 – Choking, Anaphylaxis & Poisoning

Many of us love our food, but in the wrong circumstances we could end up choking, suffering a life-threatening allergic reaction, or the effects of poisoning. This session will explore these three broad themes of first aid, starting with the treatment for choking adults, children and babies. We will also discuss the range of triggers that may cause severe allergic reactions, and how these can often be swiftly and effectively treated with an adrenaline auto-injector (e.g., EpiPen). Lastly, we will discuss a range of common poisonous substances that may make use unwell, and what treatment we can offer in each case.

These sessions are open to all ages and abilities, because everyone can benefit from this essential knowledge.

Keep in mind that these sessions won’t come with formal accreditation. They are all about empowering you, your friends, and your family with life-saving know-how. If you’re seeking certification, watch out for a full day of First Aid Training in the future.
