I have spent most of my working life as a fashion buyer travelling the globe and deciding what shoes little children will be wearing next season. Now I make and sell occasion cakes and cake pops, alongside being a care worker. Lucy is a long-standing friend of mine and its my pleasure to support her where I can with Outside Lives.
I live in Waverton, just outside Chester with my husband Andy, daughter Scarlett and our ancient cat Tilly. I am originally from Ormskirk, Lancashire but was drawn away by my other half 15 years ago!
My main passions are football and food. My passion for baking developed into a job but I still like to do it in my spare time. Liverpool are ‘my team’ and I’ve loved them since I was small.
As I’ve got older, my interest in nature and wildlife has increased and I love exploring this with my daughter. We are regular Zoo visitors and we love encouraging wildlife into our garden – we’ve recently spotted some Goldfinch!
We don’t have a huge garden or a lot of time, but I try to grow things at home where I can.
Herbs, raspberries (plants donated by Lucy years ago!), salad leaves… all trial and error really! If it works one year I’ll try again the next and then try something new.
I also love cooking – I make nearly everything from scratch, and recently I have introduced more vegetarian food into my diet.
I’m listening to Taylor swift at the moment, her new album is lovely. I also love to read but with a demanding 5 year old, it doesn’t happen all that often!
My favourite season is spring, I love the warm weather and sunshine but I also love the anticipation of spring, of what is to come and the new beginnings that spring brings with it. It also means I can start to get out in my garden… and start planting my fruit and veg!
