I’ve spent the majority of my career working in the public sector including the Crown Prosecution Service and Social Services. I still work for Social Services now and volunteer with Outside Lives as much as I can.
I met Lucy through work and it became clear that we shared a lot of the same ideals and values, particularly when it came to advocating for people and ensuring that their stories were told.
When Lucy invited me to be a part of Outside Lives, I jumped at the chance. I feel lucky to be a part of something that enriches our local community and brings so many people together.
I was born in Liverpool but grew up in Mid-Wales. I moved to North Wales about 15 years ago now and currently live in Mold with my husband, Ben and our two children, Henry and Emilia.
My spare time is either spent at the cinema, in the kitchen or outside – preferably anywhere there are trees. We also try and have a family board game day every Sunday.
I grow a lot of houseplants and have a ridiculous amount of aloe vera; it just keeps growing and growing! I also have some flowers and alpine plants in the garden. I only have a small yard so everything is in pots but we have managed to grow lettuce, radish, carrots, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries.
I have very eclectic music tastes but if there is a loud guitar involved then I am very, very happy. Nothing better than dancing around the kitchen with a wooden spoon as a microphone!
Autumn for me – I love cooking with squash and pumpkins in the autumn and it’s when the trees are at their most beautiful and vibrant.
