Dementia Friendly Communities in Flintshire – Invitation to Meet
.
We’d love to invite you to an initial meeting to explore Dementia Friendly Communities (DFCs) and how we might work together to support this across Flintshire.
.
.
.
A Dementia Friendly Community is one where people living with dementia feel understood, included, and able to stay part of everyday community life.
.
This can include:
- Local shops, services, and organisations having a better understanding of dementia
- Small, practical changes that make places easier to use and more welcoming
- Communities working together to reduce stigma and support people to live well
It’s about learning, commitment, and taking practical steps over time … not getting everything right straight away.
.
.
This meeting is a chance to:
- Share information about the North Wales Dementia Friendly Communities Scheme
- Explore what’s already happening across Flintshire towns and communities
- Discuss how we can support and connect local action across the county
- Consider setting up a Dementia Friendly Communities Flintshire steering group, so learning and ideas can be shared
.
We’ll be joined by Luke Pickering Jones from the North Wales Regional Partnership Board, who will provide regional context and answer questions.
.
You’re very welcome whether:
- You’re already involved in dementia friendly work
- You represent a town, community group, organisation, or service
- You’re just starting to explore what dementia friendly communities are
- You have lived experience or a personal interest in this work
.
.
It’s a chance to:
- Better understand Dementia Friendly Communities
- Connect with others across Flintshire
- Share ideas and experiences
- Help shape how this work develops locally
.
.
Please feel free to share this post with others who may be interested.

We hope you can join us
